[Here are the six principles from the work of Robert Cialdini]
Reciprocity is easy to hack and manipulate, but you're too smart and long-term to take that approach. Instead, reciprocity is the engine that lets us cycle things for the better.
Think about the exchanges you have been making with the people you seek to serve, and imagine the kinds of exchanges you would prefer to be making.
In these exchanges, who is in charge? Are you changing your status or are you preserving it? Are you asking others to change their status, or helping them to maintain it? Does this exchange result in reinforcing another exchange built upon trust and respect, or is it a one-way transfer? What might strengthen a cycle of exchanges?
